Biodiversity of soil and fresh water nematodes, indicators of sustainability of agricultural soils as well as environmental perturbations. Performed foundation studies in India, on developmental biology of soil-nematodes and critical observations on other nematodes in comparison to the well studied, Caenorhabditis elegans. For sustained excellence in Nematology, first Asian to receive ONTA (Organization of Nematologists of Tropical America) Special Award, 2005
