My research interests are vested in the Education system of South Africa. My particular focus is on reading literacy within the South African Education system, My initial research focused on how reading literacy teachers are being trained in initial teacher education programmes in South Africa. I wish to extend this by looking at how reading literacy manifests in the school classrooms as well as how it is taught.
