OWSD is the first international forum to unite eminent women scientists from the developing and developed worlds with the objective of strengthening their role in the development process and promoting their representation in scientific and technological leadership.
Full Membership is open to women scientists or technologists who have completed a master-degree or higher in the sciences, engineering or related fields and who are committed to the objectives of the Organization, from the developing and developed worlds. PhD and Early Career fellowships for women scientists from selected Science and Technology-Lagging Countries (STLCs). The fellowships are offered to women scientists. The PhD fellowship supports women to pursue their PhD at a host institute in another developing country in the South. The Early Career Women Scientists (ECWS) fellowship provides funding to women who have completed their PhDs, to continue their research at an international level and build up research groups while based at their home institutes.Read more
A training workshop is a type of interactive training where participants carry out a number of training activities rather than passively listen to a lecture or presentation. Broadly, two types of workshops exist: A general workshop is put on for a mixed audience, and a closed workshop is tailored towards meeting the training needs of a specific group.Read more
