Biological Systems and Organisms

The long-term goal of my research is to understand the molecular basis underlying the pathogenicity and epidemiology of gram positive cocci of public health importance. My research interest involves the molecular characterisation of staphylococci from hospitals, communities and animals in Nigeria. Molecular epidemiological assessment of Streptococcus pneumoniae colonization and infections has also become a recent focus.
