OWSD has been working hard in the Arab region since 1997 to increase the number and participation of women scientists.  There are active National Chapters in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, and Yemen. Both our PhD and Early Career Fellowships are offered to women in Djibouti, Palestine (West Bank and Gaza Strip), and Sudan; PhD Fellowships are also offered to women in the Syrian Arab Republic and Yemen. Institutes in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, and Sudan have also hosted PhD fellows. It is our goal to increase the influence of Arab women in designing and implementing scientific research.
