researching female endogenous infections such as pregnancy gingivitis and bacterial vaginosis and their influence on adverse pregnancy outcomes. I am investigating the factors involved in the conversion of a normal healthy oral and vaginal microbiome to an opportunistic and pathogenic microbiome which may threaten both mother and infant.
