My main research is on bio and nanomaterial synthesis, i.e., bacterial cellulose for health, cosmetics and composite applications, carbon nanotubes for various applications, and development of catalysts to improve hydrocarbon processing. Research on process safety & disaster management had also been carried out mainly those related to societal safety.

I am a lecturer at the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia. I work in this field for more than 20 years. Had been active in research since 2002 and is currently involved in managing an accredited characterization laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
