Meenakshi Bhattacharjee is an internationally recognized cyano-bacteriologist, studying applications of algae for human welfare, environment, energy, and agriculture for the last 33 years. Dr. Bhattacharjee’s current research interests at Rice University include growing algae for diverse products such as food, feed, pharma & nutraceuticals, cosmetics, fuel and wastewater treatment, isolation characterization of algae which are new and under exploited for these purposes and detailing their potential through molecular biochemical and physiological analyses.
