Bisphosphonates are used as effective drugs for the treatment of metabolic bone disaeses. Since 1998, they have received more attention following the discovery of their anti-metastatic activity in cancer patients. However, a common drawback for these drugs is their low gastro intestinal absorption. In our project, we intend to synthesize bisphosphonates and attach them to carbon nanotubes, in order to increase their gastro intestinal absorption and thus their bioavailability.
