Structural, Cell and Molecular Biology
Through my years of studying, I became fascinated by the research field in diagnosis, treatment, and how different techniques are applied to design new molecules with possible biological activity. For this reason, I joined a research group and participated in various research projects under this research line. My project evaluates mechanisms involved in bone loss due to disuse osteoporosis and weightlessness as in spaceflights by targetting osteocytic wnt to prevent disuse-induced bone loss. For that purpose, we designed a mouse model overexpressing wnt signalling in osteocytes. I won the "Liu Shihao-Zhu Xianyi Title Excellent Paper Award" for best Oral presentation at the 9th International Conference on Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral Research (Oct. 17-20, 2018) co-sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association, the Osteoporosis and Bone Mineral Salt Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the International Chinese Osteoporosis Society at Suzhou-China. Besides studying physiological phenomena related to this, I also am interested in finding different genes that contribute to the process.Current profession
