Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Lee Siew-Keah is an accomplished biomedical scientist, currently serving at the M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. She is the Head of Postgraduate Programme (Medical Sciences) and Chairperson of the Centre for Research on Non-Communicable Diseases (CRNCD) at UTAR. Dr. Lee’s multidisciplinary expertise encompasses pharmacology and toxicology, phytomedicine, drug discovery, and cardiometabolic disorders, nano formulations with particular focus on hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease risk factors. She is a registered Professional Technologist (Ts.) with the Malaysia Board of Technologists, Medical Laboratory Scientists (Ministry of Health, Malaysia) and holds Life Memberships in both the Malaysian Society of Hypertension and the Malaysian Society of Pharmacology and Physiology. She also serves as the Regional Representative (Malaysia) for the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) based in Germany and is on the executive committee of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Malaysian Chapter. Dr. Lee has been repeatedly commended by the President of UTAR for her outstanding teaching and academic contributions, particularly for her excellence in delivering Human Physiology and Biochemistry courses. Her research portfolio encompasses over 40 peer-reviewed journal publications indexed in WoS and SCOPUS, with significant contributions to the understanding of the therapeutic potential of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), flavonoids, and other phytochemicals in the management of hypertension and metabolic disorders. She is the principal investigator or team leader in numerous national and industry-funded research projects, with collaborative ties to leading local and international academic and industrial institutions. Dr. Lee’s research has received awards and travel grants from esteemed organizations such as the International Society of Hypertension, the Korean Society of Hypertension, and the Asia-Pacific Society of Cardio Metabolic Syndrome. A dedicated mentor, she has successfully supervised postgraduate students across master’s and PhD levels and continues to lead impactful undergraduate research initiatives. Dr. Lee is also a frequent speaker and presenter at international scientific conferences and has served as a judge for the Global Undergraduate Awards (Ireland) and the KLESF International Challenge. Her contributions extend to editorial and review boards of high-impact journals such as Phytomedicine, Nutrients, Current Pharmaceutical Design, and Journal of Clinical Medicine. She is also a certified Good Clinical Practice (GCP) holds copyrighted IP for validated public health assessment tools.
