Coordination (Lab Project Lead): Projects funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) a) Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance Network (CHAMPS) in Manhiҫa, Mozambique b) Comprehensive Mortality Surveillance for Action (COMSA) in Quelimane, Mozambique Specific tasks under my responsibilities include: • Coordination of internal and external audits and quality assurance • Planning and development of laboratory activities and work schedules • Development of Job description for lab staff and allocation of activities • Technical support and staff training • Participating in study design and implementation of research activites • Development of study progress reports for onsite investigators, collaborators and sponsors • Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for specimen processing and equipment usage • Supervision of the staff in proper use of personal protective equipment on the Lab and biosafety regulations • Development of technical reports and recommendations based on the research findings • Monitoring data collection and analysis • Budget holder • Perform of Molecular biology techniques: o HIV-1 viral detection and Viral load by PCR o Taqman Array Card assay Real Time PCR o Detection of antimicrobial resistance and virulence mechanisms in bacteria by conventional PCR o Rotavirus detection by ELISA and genotyping by conventional PCR o Plasmodium falciparum detection and quantification by Real Time PCR
