Current professional activities type:ResearchWorking as a Medical Physicist; Basic Job Responsibilities: 1) Researching new equipment developments and techniques, assessing the impact on existing local practice and compiling reports to initiate changes. 2) Planning and ensuring safe and accurate treatment of patients. 3) Managing radiotherapy quality assurance (QA) programs. 4) Ensures accurate measurement of radiation output from sources employed in Radiotherapy. 5) Consulting, providing and assisting Physicists, Medical Doctors and CT Radiographers and Radiotherapy Technologists in the development of new techniques for treatment. 6) Undertaking audit visits to check compliance with Local health and safety regulations (PNRA). 7) Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Technical / Special Job Responsibilities: 1) Investigating equipment performance, organizing quality control practices, designing radiation installations and implementing controls for medical radiation hazards. 2) Responsible for radiation safety, ensuring Radiotherapy machines are operating safely, performing machine acceptance testing. 3) Reporting the Departmental productivity and problems to higher management. 4) Monitoring of Radiotherapy machines to ensure correct and consistent results are achieved. 5) Working as a member of Radiation Protection Committee (RPC) for the implementation of radiation protection protocols for radiation workers and visitors
