My research focusses on method development in organic synthesis of biologically important intermediates/drugs within the field of antibacterials. Some of my recent research findings have led to a patent of new molecules targeting drug resistant bacterial infections. These resistant strains of bacteria are currently a severe global epidemic and is amplified in South Africa as a result of other communicable diseases.
