Mass extinction in the geological record of our planet; ground-breaking research on the biospheric effects and depositional mechanism brought about by large impacts. Including the study of the Chicxulub crater as the best preserved example of ejecta blanket in a volatile rich wet target rock. This deposit can serve as analog for planetary fluidized ejecta blamkets on the planets.
