I am currently conducting my PhD research project on Mimusops andongensis Hiern and Mimusops kummel Bruce ex A. DC (Sapotaceae), two tropical multipurpose species that naturally occur in Africa. This research work aims to assess the ethnobotany and ecology of the concerned species, to model their potential distribution and characterize their population structure, growth dynamics and spatial distribution patterns of individuals and also to experiment with vegetative propagation methods.
