The ecological studies on the brown plant hopper (BPH) Nilaparvata lugens (Stal) (Hemiptera: Homoptera) and the white backed plant hopper (WBPH) Sogatella furcifera (Horvath) (Hemiptera: Homoptera) were carried out my reserach. Thus detailed studies on interactions between BPH and WBPH are crucial for determining the appropriate integrated crop production and pest management systems in rice so as to conserve the natural environment as well as the sustainability of rice farming systems.
