Agricultural Sciences
My research focuses on improving crop resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses through advanced plant breeding techniques. I am actively engaged in the development of maize varieties with enhanced Striga resistance and yield potential, utilizing innovative genetic improvement strategies. Additionally, I contribute to millet mutation breeding, exploring novel approaches to enhance resilience and productivity in challenging environments. Alongside these efforts, I am involved in the low phytic acid beans project, which aims to enhance the nutritional profile of beans by reducing their phytic acid content. This work integrates genetic and agronomic approaches to improve mineral bioavailability, ensuring better health outcomes for consumers while maintaining agronomic performance. My research integrates rigorous experimental designs, molecular analysis, and agronomic evaluations to support sustainable agricultural solutions. Through these initiatives, I aim to advance food security and crop sustainability while collaborating with international institutions to drive impactful scientific innovation.
