I am developing my research on the field of membrane active peptides. The aim of the research project is to gain further insight into the governing rules (mechanism of action) of peptide associated conformational changes upon membrane insertion. I am conducting primarily experimental work addressing the biophysical interactions of natural and non-natural peptides with model membranes and small molecules (small molecules as FDA approved drugs), to reach preferentially antimicrobial activity.
