[Project Chemist] — [African Power Initiative limited] Duties and responsibilities • Working with the plant manager to schedule and perform experiments and testing • Ability to analyze, report and communicate the data from the experiments to co-workers and management • Conducting on site monitoring of production and quality • Analyzeing the research data and analytical information and be able to communicate the result to management • Working with production and marketing personnel to reach goals with product quality control and production • Sample analyses utilising various lab instrumentation • Performing instrument calibration and verification per manufacturing recommendation and internal work instructions • Performing instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to include administrative tasks related to instrument calibration/ maintenance • Laboratory calibration standard and reagent preparation • Testing data recording in a timely manner • Performing activities related to the continuous improvement of laboratory operations • Testing accuracy and precision improvement as well as test method improvement • Investigating new equipment for the laboratory and compose proposals for new purchases. • Developing expertise in bio fuel Chemistry and the biomaterials industry by reading the relevant technical literature • Train new personnel in laboratory protocol and technique
