Current Research Activities
Biological Systems and Organisms
My work involves using molecular biology tools to engineer Escherichia coli for production of recombinant proteins and biomolecules of commercial interest. I am also interested in engineering carbon dioxide-fixing microorganisms like Ralstonia eutropha to make value-added molecules. In addition, I am also engaged in teaching and mentoring student research activities. List of courses taught: Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (Bachelor of Pharmacy) Biosystems and Bioprocess Engineering (Master of Technology in Bioprocess Technology) Applied Molecular and Synthetic Biology (Master of Technology in Bioprocess Technology) Fundamentals of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Chemical Engineering (Master of Technology in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology)
