Working as a public health professional from Bangladesh with expertise in epidemiology, disease surveillance, and health informatics. Currently engaged in Nipah virus surveillance and outbreak response at the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), with prior experience in One Health initiatives, research, and data analysis. Academic background includes B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Public Health and Informatics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management. Key interests include zoonotic diseases, women’s health, child health, epidemiology, data science, and strengthening public health systems.
Results-driven public health professional from Bangladesh with strong expertise in epidemiology, disease surveillance, and health informatics. Currently serving as a Field Research Assistant at the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), with a focus on Nipah virus surveillance and outbreak response across surveillance sites in Dinajpur and Jashore. Responsibilities include coordinating field activities, outbreak investigations, training, and community engagement.
Previously worked as a Data Analyst at IEDCR, contributing to the development of the One Health Event-Based Surveillance Data Management and Visualization Dashboard and supporting the creation of digital tools for data management. Experience also includes serving as a Program Associate for One Health Bangladesh, actively contributing to the organization of the 11th One Health Bangladesh Conference 2023, and membership database management.
Earlier career engagements include roles as a Research Assistant at INCIDIN Bangladesh, where responsibilities covered baseline studies, feasibility assessments, and social research, and at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, where contributions focused on dengue and Zika virus vector surveillance in collaboration with WHO Bangladesh.
Holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Public Health and Informatics from Jahangirnagar University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management awarded by Edupro, UK. Academic research focused on heavy metals in cosmetics and their health effects on women, as well as the impact of social media addiction on student health. Skilled in data analysis and visualization using SPSS, STATA, Epi Info, etc.
In addition to academic research, contributed to peer-reviewed publications, including “Antibiotic use patterns and trends in the FDMN population and rural Bangladeshi population: a cross-sectional study” published in the Asian Journal of Medical and Biological Research (DOI: https://doi.org/10.3329/ajmbr.v10i3.71707).
Actively engaged in volunteerism and leadership development, with experience in disaster relief, youth leadership programs, and public health awareness initiatives. Participation in multiple national and international seminars and training programs has strengthened expertise in research methods, organizational leadership, and health system strengthening.
A life member of One Health Bangladesh and a member of OWSD (The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World), with professional interests centered on zoonotic diseases, women’s health, and strengthening public health systems through surveillance, data-driven approaches, and cross-sectoral collaboration.
