
Agriculture and Food Security
Women make up the largest percentage of small farmers in the world and are often the main providers of meals and responsible for nutrition. Over a third of OWSD members are working in the field of agriculture, identifying local, national, and regional challenges (e.g., drought affecting crop yield, soil quality, developing resistant seed strains) and designing and developing solutions that will often be directly implemented by women farmers.
