Membership

Currently OWSD has more than 6,000 members.  Over 90% of OWSD members are women living and working in developing countries who have Masters or Doctorates in science subjects.  Each member has the potential to contribute significantly to the technological advancement and economic growth of their countries. OWSD members can network face to face through activities organised by their National Chapters, or through Regional and International conferences, as well as online through this website. If a country has more than 20 members, members can choose to set up a national chapter. To apply for membership click here.

Full members are women scientists who have completed a Masters degree or higher in the natural or social sciences, engineering or related fields at a recognized university. Click here to see the list of full members. Full members can vote in the OWSD General Assemblies to elect new members of the OWSD executive board.

Associate members are

  • men from developing countries who have completed a Masters degree or higher in the natural or social sciences, engineering or related fields.
  • women and men from developed countries who have completed a Masters degree or higher in the natural or social sciences, engineering or related fields.

Affiliate members are women who have completed a Bachelors Degree or equivalent in the natural or social sciences, engineering or related fields.

 

All members are committed to the objectives of the Organization.
