South AfricaThe COVID 19 pandemic has proved the importance of science advice to government globally. This is evident in the immense work that has been undertaken collaboratively between various scientists, science bodies, policy experts and governments. The Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) is working on sustaining its niche, relevance, and influence by bringing transformation in its representation. Historically disadvantaged institutions are critical in the national system of (NSI) and in having more ASSAf Members. The academy is working on identifying Academy ambassadors in different provinces so as to create the awareness and sustainable relationships with various institutions and individuals. These online roadshows seek to profile the current Members of ASSAf and bodies that are affiliated to the academy namely the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS), the Organisation for Women in Science i n the Developing World (OWSD) , and The World Academy of Science (TWAS). This will provide a platform for the different stakeholders in the universities and science institutions to engage with the relevant Academy Members in order to understand how they can participate in various activities of ASSAf.
