Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science & International Women’s Day

On Tuesday, February 25, the OWSD Egypt National Chapter held a special seminar titled “Women’s Health and Bone Wellness” at the National Research Centre in Cairo, in honor of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11) and International Women’s Day (March 8).

The event, organized by the association, aimed to raise awareness about women’s physical well-being, with a focus on bone health, and to highlight the vital role of women in science, health, and design.

The seminar welcomed esteemed guests and speakers from various academic and scientific institutions. Special thanks and recognition were extended to:

  • Prof. Dr. Rayan Abdallah, Founding Dean of the German University in the New Administrative Capital and Berlin, and Founder of the Faculty of Design at the German University in Cairo
  • Prof. Dr. Maha El-Halaby, Professor of Design at the Faculty of Applied Arts
  • Prof. Dr. Manal Ramadan, Dean of the Institute of Food and Nutrition Research at the National Research Centre
  • Distinguished professors from the Department of Sports Health, Faculty of Physical Education, Cairo

The success of the event was enhanced by the leadership of the session chairs:

  • Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sobhy Hassanein, Former Vice President of Helwan University and President of the University Sports Federation for North African Countries
  • Prof. Dr. Nermeen Maisour, Petroleum Research Institute
