OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Awardees at the International Conference on Gender Action and Climate Change

The six awardees will speak on a special panel to present their prize-winning research.
The six winners of the 2022 OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Awards will present their research during a special panel at the International Conference on Gender Action and Climate Change (IGCC 2022), 24 March, 2022. The conference will take place both online and in person at Istanbul Aydın University (IAU).
IGCC 2022 is organized by IAU in collaboration with the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Eurasian Universities Union (EURAS), UNESCO, OWSD Republic of Türkiye National Chapter, IAU Environment and Human Health Center, Energy Politics and Markets Applied Research Center (EPPAM), and IAU UNESCO Chair in Education and Sustainability Peace.
The conference aims to give participants the opportunity to discuss major issues of importance for integrated gender action plans on the climate change problem, using case studies from various scientific disciplines, both theoretical and applied. It will address the state of worldwide climate change action plans. The virtual conference will provide an occasion for young scientists to meet and discuss their experience with senior scientists from around the world. The peer-reviewed papers of all accepted presentations will be published in the conference proceedings book.
The OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Awardees - Abeer Ahmed Qaed Ahmed (Yemen), Heyddy Calderon (Nicaragua), Gawsia Wahidunnessa Chowdhury (Bangladesh), Flor de Mayo González Miranda (Guatemala), Myriam Mujawamariya (Rwanda), and Ashani Savinda Ranathunga (Sri Lanka) - will present their research as part of a panel moderated by OWSD Coordinator Tonya Blowers, from 14:30-15:45 Istanbul time (UTC + 3).
