OWSD Pakistan: Annual Meeting of Executive Council Members

On April 01, 2021, Executive council members of the OWSD Pakistan National Chapter had an annual meeting. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Saima Saleem (Secretary, OWSD Pakistan) and chaired by Prof. Bina S. Siddique (President, OWSD Pakistan). The main agenda of the meeting was to assess the progress and difficulties faced by the National chapter over the past year (2020) and to discuss the work plan for the year 2021. The meeting lasted for 2 hours, where OWSD PKNC Executive members shared their views and opinions on their role and progress of the organization. During the meeting, EC members from outside Karachi namely Dr. Hafsah Muhammad, Dr. Bushra Mirza, Dr. Hajra Naz and Dr. Rozeena Shaikh joined the meeting via Microsoft Teams.

The meeting commenced after the recitation from Holy Quran by Ms Syeda Abiha Zehra (ECM) followed by a formal welcome. The Secretary of OWSD PAK NC, Dr. Saima Saleem presented the details of schemes, progress during the year 2020, recent activities and upcoming events. She also acknowledged the role of Media Co-Ordinator’s (Ms Syeda Areesha Zaidi & Ms Syeda Abiha Zehra) and the efforts of the Media Team (Maryam Amjad, Sidra Kawal, Oniba Khalid, Madiha Kawal & Ume Kulsoom) during recent activities.

During the discussion, Dr. Saima Saleem made a request for joint Events of OWSD PKNC with Jinnah University for Women, Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre and Hemophilia Society Karachi, which was accepted and appreciated by all the EC members. The EC members also discussed the financial problems faced by the national chapter and gave their suggestion regarding this issue. The issue related to the COVID scenario in Pakistan was also discussed, that how the national chapter will work its way around the covid regulations.

Prof. Dr. Bina S. Siddique (President, OWSD Pakistan NC) appreciated the teamwork, friendly discussion and interactive session with all EC members and hoped to work together for future betterment and growth. In the end, Prof. Bina Siddique and Dr. Saima Saleem thanked the attendees for their time, participation and wished them a safe life.
