OWSD Pakistan: International Women's Day Celebration 2024

Celebrated International Women's Day on March 07, 2024!

A remarkable morning unfolded as we gathered to honour the inspiring journey of women in STEM. Our esteemed President, Prof. Bina S. Siddiqui (S.I., T.I., Khwarizmi Laureate), shared her incredible odyssey from home to becoming an eminent scientist.
The event was graced by video messages from distinguished OWSD members and eminent scientists: Prof. Bushra Mirza T.I. (first female member of the Higher Education Commission, Pakistan), Dr. Zahra Hassan (Molecular Microbiologist at Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Aga Khan University) and Dr. Asma Tabassum (Director ORIC, Sohail University) each sharing their unique stories of resilience and success.
Faculty members of the University of Karachi also took the stage, offering insights into their personal and professional journeys.
A special highlight was our Guest of Honor, Dr. Natalia Zhadovets, the Head of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Karachi, who enlightened us with her thoughts on women's empowerment in STEM and every other domain.
In the heart of the event, we celebrated the outstanding achievements of our OWSD Pakistan Chapter members – a testament to their dedication and brilliance.
The morning culminated with the distribution of shields and souvenirs, symbolizing our appreciation for the incredible women who continue to inspire change.
