UNESCO Moderator: Prof. Dr. Mervat Foda, Chair of the OWSD Egypt Executive Committee

The Arab Women in Science Platform is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering
women in natural and social sciences across the Arab region. The platform provides spaces for
women scientists to connect, share experiences, access career-enhancing programs, including
mentorship and training, and advocate for gender-transformative policies and open science. The
initiative was launched in response to the challenges faced by Arab women scientists, including
cultural norms, gender bias, and lack of support for work-life balance
