Prof. Mervat Foda Selected as Vice President of OWSD and Participates in the First Meeting of the New Executive Board in Bogotá, Colombia

The OWSD–Egypt Chapter is proud to announce that Prof. Mervat Foda has been officially selected as Vice President of the international Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). This distinguished recognition reflects her long-standing contributions to scientific leadership, women empowerment, and research development in Egypt and beyond.

Prof. Foda participated in the first official gathering of the newly elected OWSD Executive Board, held in Bogotá, Colombia, where celebrations were hosted to mark the beginning of the new term and to set the organization’s strategic direction for the coming years.

During her visit to Bogotá, Prof. Foda also took part in the Third Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development, held under the theme:
“Women. Science. Development. Our Conversation.”
The event brought together representatives from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe, creating an influential platform for discussions on global education, scientific advancement, and the strengthening of international partnerships.

Prof. Foda’s participation underscores the active role of the OWSD–Egypt Chapter in global scientific dialogue and highlights Egypt’s presence in shaping international strategies for women in science.

The Chapter extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Mervat Foda on this well-deserved achievement and looks forward to her continued leadership and impact within OWSD worldwide.
