Tanzanian scientist featured in Italian school STEM textbook

OWSD member, Dr. Pendo Nandiga Bigambo, University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, has received international recognition after learning that her name appears in an Italian primary school STEM textbook. 

The book lists her among women scientists who have contributed to advancing science and inspiring young learners.

Pendo shared the news in a message expressing her appreciation for the support she has received throughout her career.

Knowing that young students in Italy are now learning about my contributions to sustainable textile engineering and innovation is truly humbling, inspiring and deeply meaningful to me. She went on to express her gratitude to colleagues and collaborators for the role they played in her success. She thanked OWSD, in particular, for supporting her work to reach broader international audiences.
