WISDOM presents "Sustaining knowledge during crises: Gender and Displacement in Science"
OWSD is proud to present the conference “Sustaining Knowledge during Crises: Gender and Displacement in Science,” organised within the framework of the WISDOM project, which supports displaced female students and researchers.
The conference will take place on 23 April 2026 in Rome, Italy, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and displaced scientists to explore the intersections of gender, migration, and science at the prestigious Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (Italian Academy of Science).
Rooted in lived experience and informed by rigorous research, the conference aims to foster knowledge exchange and policy recommendations around the barriers faced by displaced women in scientific fields and how to sustain their efforts.
The WISDOM Conference will contribute to the development of future collaborative research initiatives and reinforce OWSD’s long-term commitment to inclusive science diplomacy.
While the call for abstracts is now closed, individuals with lived experience of displacement, along with professionals, researchers, and anyone interested in the conference themes, are welcome to attend as auditors by registering here.
Keep up to date with the event's development on the dedicated page on our website!
Please note that due to limited funding, OWSD is not able to fund participation to the event other than to the speakers whose abstracts have been selected.
