OWSD Pakistan: The Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Shaping Women’s Future: Contributions, Challenges and Opportunities

The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) – Pakistan National Chapter, in collaboration with the Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Agency (GBEPA), proudly hosted its first event in Gilgit, titled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Shaping Women’s Future: Contributions, Challenges, and Opportunities”, on November 11, 2024. Held at the Girls Degree College Gilgit multi-purpose hall, the event saw an enthusiastic turnout of 350 students and featured insights from five experts across diverse fields.
The event opened with remarks from Principal Girls Degree College, Ms. Meher Angez, who emphasized the significance of AI in shaping the future of women. The expert panel included:

Miss Sobia Mustafa – Assistant Manager, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO)
Miss Farhana Imtiaz – CEO, Eco-Clicks
The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions on the event's theme. The day concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Qandeel Zehra Zameer, Chief Organizer and OWSD PNC Focal Person for Gilgit-Baltistan.
