The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment invites you to the Gender Mainstreaming Workshop under the Capacity Building initiative for Transparency (CBIT) Project of SA
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, through the branch Climate Change, Air Quality aand Sustainable Development invites you to the Gender Mainstreaming Workshop under the Capacity Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT) project of South Africa. The workshops will run over two phases, the first one focusing on the policy makers, and second phase will focus on implementers, NGO’s, research institutions as well as academics.
The main objectives of the workshops to;
- Highlight the gaps in the National Climate Change policies and encourage gender mainstreaming in the development, implementation and reporting;
- Enhance the capacity of South Africa’s decision makers, policy developers and stakeholders to develop gender-responsive policies, plans and programmes on climate change;
- Serve as an input to the draft South African Climate Change Gender Action Plan;
- To ensure gender integration into climate change and highlight the importance of such and;
- Solicit South Africa position on gender and climate change under the UNFCCC.

NB: Please note that due to Covid-19 restrictions, the workshop will be held in a hybrid format. Only 50 people will be allowed at the workshop venue, the remaining stakeholders will be sent the link to join virtually.
