About me

Dr. Alejandra Paola Martínez Camberos earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with honors from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa in 2022, after completing a Master’s degree in 2017 and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology Engineering in 2015. She is a faculty member at the Autonomous University of Occidente, Mazatlán campus, where she has been part of the Biomedical and Molecular Biology Research Group since 2021. Her research focuses on chronic diseases, with contributions including seven scientific articles, three book chapters, and the supervision of undergraduate and graduate theses. She was recognized as Investigator by the Sinaloa State System of Researchers and Technologists in 2022 and as a Candidate of the Mexican National System of Researchers in 2024.

Dr. Alejandra Paola Martínez Camberos obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Sinaloa in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, in 2015. During her undergraduate studies, she completed research internships at national research institutes and an international placement at the Genetics Department of the “Hospital del Niño de Panamá.” She later pursued graduate studies at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, earning a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2017 and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with honors in 2022.
Since 2020, Dr. Martínez Camberos has been a tenured faculty member at the Autonomous University of Occidente, Mazatlán campus, where she is affiliated with the Department of Health Sciences. In 2021, she joined the university’s Biomedical and Molecular Biology Research Group. Alongside her teaching activities, she has contributed to the organization of academic events for scientific dissemination and has developed an active research career. Her work has resulted in the publication of seven scientific articles—three as first author and one as corresponding author—as well as three book chapters. She has also supervised undergraduate and graduate theses and served on thesis defense committees.
Her academic contributions have been recognized through several distinctions, including being named Investigator by the Sinaloa State System of Researchers and Technologists in 2022, and being designated as a Candidate of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI) in 2024.
Her professional goals focus on advancing high-quality scientific research in the field of chronic disease diagnosis and development, while fostering the training of future researchers and contributing to the well-being of society.
