She holds a PhD in Management Studies from Brunel University London and has published extensively in Scopus-indexed journals. Her work focuses on the impact of sustainability regulations, technology, and governance frameworks on firm performance and sustainable development. Dr. Buallay is actively involved in higher education leadership, research supervision, and capacity building across the MENA region.

Dr. Amina Buallay is an accomplished academic, policy expert, and higher education leader specializing in sustainability reporting, corporate governance, and sustainable development in emerging and developing economies. She holds a PhD in Management Studies from Brunel University London (2020), with a specialization in Sustainability Reporting, alongside an MBA in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bahrain.
Dr. Buallay has held senior leadership and advisory roles at both institutional and national levels. She currently serves as Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at University College of Bahrain and holds the academic rank of Associate Professor. Previously, she served at the Higher Education Council of Bahrain as Chief of the Scientific Research Fund, Acting Director of Accreditation and Licensing, and Chief of Scientific Research Development, where she played a key role in shaping national research policies, accreditation systems, and quality assurance frameworks.
Her academic appointments include Associate Professor at University College of Bahrain and Associate Member at Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University. She has also served as an Assistant Professor in Islamic Finance and as an external postgraduate supervisor, contributing to research capacity building and academic leadership across the MENA region.
Dr. Buallay has led and coordinated several strategic academic and institutional development projects, including her ongoing role as Project Coordinator at Isa Al Kabeer – Al Hedaya Al Khalifia University, focusing on institutional readiness, governance, and sustainable academic development.
Dr. Buallay’s scholarly excellence has been recognized internationally. She has been ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University for four consecutive years (2021–2025). Her major awards include the OAPEC Award for Scientific Research, the Rashid Bin Hamid Prize for Culture and Science, the ICAI International Research Awards, the Sharjah Award for the Best Doctoral Dissertation in Administrative Sciences in the Arab Region, and the Exceptional PhD Alumni Award from Brunel University London.
She has published over 50 research papers in Q1 and Q2 Scopus-indexed journals, receiving more than 6,500 citations. Her research focuses on sustainability regulation, corporate governance, intellectual capital, innovation, and the role of technology in enhancing firm performance and sustainable development.
At the international level, Dr. Buallay actively contributes to scientific and policy networks. She serves as an International Expert at the National Science Centre in Poland, an Executive Member of the Gulf Network for Quality Assurance of Higher Education, and an Advisor to the Education and Training Committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Dr. Buallay is deeply committed to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through research, education, policy engagement, and the empowerment of women in science and leadership.
