About me
My name is Amsale Zelalem and hold a PhD in Geo-information Processing and Data Science from Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, University of Twente. My MSc and BSc are in Computer Science from Addis Ababa University. I am the Head of the Department of Computer Science at Addis Ababa Univeristy and serve as assitant professor in the same department. My research interest and recent project includes, wireless sensor networks, Internet of Things, software engineering and computer systems with an emphasis on applications in agriculture, AI for sustainable development, digital inclusion, machine learning and (spatiotemporal) data science. I have been involved in a number of education activities like teaching, courseware development and student advising. I am also a member of the Internet Society (ISOC), Ethiopian Information Technology Professional Association (EITPA), and The Society of Ethiopian Women in Science and Technology (SEWiST)
