About me
I am a junior researcher in Center of Biomedical Research, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) of The Republic of Indonesia. My research fields are virology, molecular biology, pathogen diseases and One-Health.
I am a young researcher at the Center for Biomedical Research, Health Research Organization, BRIN, specializing in virology with a focus on respiratory viruses such as influenza and SARS-CoV-2. My research aims to advance the understanding of co-infection mechanisms, viral evolution, and zoonotic potential through genomic approaches and host–pathogen interaction analyses. My scientific work includes leading several competitive research projects as principal investigator, publishing in reputable international journals, and contributing to multidisciplinary initiatives on surveillance, metagenomics, and the development of rapid diagnostics for infectious diseases.
I have received several prestigious national and international grants, including BRIN research funding, the BIMA program from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), Indonesia, and the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) and Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) Discovery Research Academy (MODRA) Research Fellowship. I am currently undertaking a one-year fellowship under the MODRA program. My academic contributions also include presenting at international conferences, receiving a Best Oral Presenter award, and serving as an active reviewer for PLOS ONE. I have also filed a patent for an influenza A H1N1pdm detection primer, reflecting my commitment to developing impactful scientific innovations.
Beyond research, I actively strengthen networks among young scientists and foster international collaboration, supported by my doctoral training in Japan and involvement in cross-country research activities. I also served as a guest lecturer in the “Praktisi Mengajar” program by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), Indonesia, where I shared virology knowledge with students and early-career health professionals from 2023 to 2024. These experiences highlight my dedication to bridging research and education while supporting the growth of the next generation of health researchers.
With this background and my commitment to advancing Indonesia’s research capacity, I am now a member of the Indonesian Young Academy of Sciences (ALMI), contributing to strengthening the national scientific ecosystem and enhancing preparedness for global health challenges.
