About me

Im Azza Dabous an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Food Technology at An-Najah National University, Palestine. I obtained my PhD in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, Italy, in 2024. My research focuses on probiotics, microbial metabolites, and their interactions with intestinal health, with particular emphasis on the anti-inflammatory and barrier-protective effects of probiotics and their bioactive compounds, my work involves the development and application of in vitro 2D and 3D gastrointestinal models, including intestinal epithelial cell models, to investigate probiotic–host interactions, intestinal barrier integrity, wound healing, and inflammatory responses. my research interests also include the industrial production and characterization of probiotics and microbial exopolysaccharides (EPS) and their potential applications in food and health.
