About me
I am a Lecturer and Academic Researcher in Computer Science at the University of Maroua, Cameroon, specializing in Cryptography, Network Security, and Distributed Systems.
My research focuses on lightweight security protocols, post-quantum authentication, and blockchain applications (including frameworks using Hedera Hashgraph) for resource-constrained environments like IoT networks.
Beyond research and university teaching, I am committed to advancing gender equality in STEM in Central Africa. I serve as the Founder and President of the "Women, Science and Technology" (WST) association and lead outreach initiatives like the Young Women Scientific Leaders (YWSL) program to mentor and encourage young women to pursue scientific and technical careers I am a Senior Lecturer and Academic Researcher in Computer Science at the University of Maroua, Cameroon, specializing in Cryptography, Network Security, and Distributed Systems. I’am a Computer Science Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Maroua in Cameroon. I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maroua, following a Master’s Degree in Software and Systems in Distributed Environments from the University of Ngaoundéré, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science and Technology from the same institution.
My educational trajectory laid a strong mathematical and technical foundation in information security, systems distribution, and privacy-preserving computing.
Currently based at the National Advanced School of Engineering of Maroua (Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications), Dr. Boudjou Tchapgnouo delivers undergraduate and graduate coursework across core computing domains:
• Networks and Systems: Computer Networks, Network Protocols, and Operating Systems.
• Security and Cryptography: Cryptography, Advanced Cryptography Programming, Information Systems Security, Application Security, and Smart Cards.
• Academic Mentorship: Supervision of polytechnic design engineering projects and Master's theses.
Research Focus & Scientific Contributions.
My research bridges applied cryptography, artificial intelligence, and network security, with a strong emphasis on lightweight and privacy-preserving solutions for resource-constrained environments.
Beyond technical research, Dr. Boudjou Tchapgnouo is a prominent advocate for gender equity and scientific capacity building in Central Africa. I'am the Founder and President of the WST Association, created to promote women’s leadership, participation, and scientific advancement in STEM and the Founder and Coordinator of YWSL (Young Women Scientific Leaders) Program, the flagship program under WST. The program delivers digital skills development, career guidance, mentorship, scientific leadership training, and entrepreneurship opportunities for girls and young women across Africa.
I collaborate with academic networks including the Computer Science Research Laboratory (LaRI, Cameroon), Information Processing and Intelligent Systems Laboratory (LTISI, Senegal), Laboratory of Computer Science and Educational Technologies (LITE, Cameroon), PRMAIS, and MACISA.
