Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems, with a specialization in Educational Software from the Latin American Institute of Educational Communication (ILCE). Master’s degree in New Technologies for Learning from Universidad Iberoamericana. Doctorate in Education from Universidad La Salle.

My academic and research interests include Programming, Educational Technology, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), and their application to health education, disease prevention, and health promotion.

Dr. Carmen Cerón Garnica was born in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico. She is a Full-Time Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Computer Science of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), Mexico, where she has served since 1995. She currently serves as Academic Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Research and Health Education, a position she has held since 2023.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems, with a specialization in Educational Software from the Latin American Institute of Educational Communication (ILCE), a Master’s degree in New Technologies for Learning from Universidad Iberoamericana, and a Doctorate in Education from Centro Universitario La Salle Benavente.
Her academic and research work focuses on Educational Technology, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), Programming, and their application to education, particularly in health education, disease prevention, and health promotion. Her research interests include the design and development of innovative educational strategies, digital resources, and technology-enhanced learning environments that contribute to education and health promotion.
She is a member of the BUAP Registry of Researchers (Padrón de Investigadores e Investigadoras de la BUAP) and holds a PRODEP profile for the 2024–2030 period. She is also a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers (SNII), with recognition for the 2027–2031 period, and is a member of Academic Body CA-279 at BUAP.
Her academic trajectory reflects an interdisciplinary approach connecting computer science, education, and health. Through her teaching, research, and academic leadership, she is committed to advancing the use of technology and innovative educational approaches to address contemporary challenges in education, health promotion, and disease prevention.
