**Dr. Dina M. Ghanem** is a Pharmacognosy Researcher at Egypt’s National Research Centre with extensive experience in medicinal plants, natural products chemistry, and drug discovery. She earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Cairo University in 2025 and has been actively involved in research at the National Research Centre since 2006.
Her expertise includes phytochemical analysis, metabolomics, chromatographic techniques, bioactive compound isolation, and molecular docking. Dr. Ghanem’s research focuses on exploring medicinal plants as sources of therapeutically valuable compounds and advancing natural product-based drug discovery.
She has authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications, presented her work at national and international conferences, and participated in specialized training in metabolomics, computational drug design, and advanced analytical techniques. In addition to her research activities, she contributes to scientific education and training programs for university and school students.
Dr. Ghanem is a member of several scientific organizations and research units dedicated to medicinal plants, algae research, and pharmaceutical innovation, reflecting her commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences and natural product research.
Dr. Dina M. Ghanem is a Pharmacognosy Researcher at the Pharmaceutical and Drug Industries Research Institute, National Research Centre (NRC), Egypt. She earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharmacognosy) from Cairo University in 2025, following her M.Sc. degree in 2016 and B.Sc. degree with Honors in 2005. Her doctoral research focused on the pharmacognostical study of *Carissa carandas* and *Carissa macrocarpa* cultivated in Egypt.
With nearly two decades of research experience, Dr. Ghanem specializes in medicinal plants, natural products chemistry, ethnopharmacology, and pharmacognostic evaluation. Her expertise encompasses phytochemical screening, metabolite profiling, extraction techniques, chromatographic analysis, and the isolation and structural elucidation of bioactive compounds using advanced spectroscopic and analytical methods. She is also actively involved in biological activity assessment, metabolomics, molecular docking, and computer-aided drug discovery.
Dr. Ghanem has contributed to several peer-reviewed scientific publications addressing the phytochemistry and pharmacological potential of medicinal plants. Her research has focused on identifying natural bioactive compounds with promising therapeutic applications and exploring sustainable plant-based resources for drug discovery and development.
She is a member of the Special Unit of Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Medicinal Plants, the National Laboratory for Algae, and the Incubator for Nutritional Supplements and Pharmaceutical Preparations from Medicinal Plants at the National Research Centre. In addition, she actively participates in scientific conferences, workshops, and educational programs, contributing to the training of university and school students.
Her current research interests include medicinal plants, metabolomics, natural product chemistry, molecular networking, pharmacological evaluation of plant-derived compounds, and computational approaches for modern drug discovery.
