About me

Dr. Haneen Dwaib is an enthusiastic junior academic dedicated to advancing biomedical research, with a particular focus on cardiovascular health and adipose tissue inflammation. She earned her PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2022, where she conducted innovative research examining the effects of dietary interventions on cardiovascular dysfunction and adipose tissue inflammation in prediabetic models. Her research integrates the disciplines of biomedical sciences nutrition and pharmacology, with the goal of uncovering new insights to enhance public health and patient care.
Dr. Dwaib’s academic and professional journey reflects a pattern of excellence. She holds a Master's in Community and Public Health from Birzeit University in Palestine, and a Bachelor's in Nutrition and Dietetics, along with a minor in Psychology, from the same institution.
In her professional role as a junior faculty member at Palestine Ahliya University, Dr. Dwaib teaches clinical nutrition and dietetics. She has also worked as a clinical dietitian in diverse healthcare settings and has contributed to public health policy during her work at the Ministry of Education in Palestine.
Recognized globally for her research, Dr. Dwaib has received several prestigious awards, including L'Oreal UNESCO for women in science, the Elsevier Foundation/UNESCO Award for Early Career Women Scientists in the Global South and the Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award. She has presented her work at major international conferences, such as the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions, the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), and has published and reviewed for top scientific journals.
