About me
Hasiyat Shihova is a doctoral researcher and Chief Specialist in the commercialization of scientific and innovative work at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni, Uzbekistan. Her research develops the concept of "pedagogical compliance," which reframes academic integrity as an internalized student value cultivated through instructional design and the ethical use of artificial intelligence. She is the Founding Coordinator of the Uzbekistan Academic Integrity Community (UzCAI) — the first national academic integrity network in Central Asia — and a member of ICAI and ENAI.
Hasiyat Shihova is a doctoral researcher and Chief Specialist at the Department of Commercialization of Scientific and Innovative Work at Urgench State University named after Abu Rayhan Beruni, Uzbekistan. Beginning her career with an honours degree in engineering technology from the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry, she has since built extensive expertise in compliance and academic integrity, including five years leading her university's Compliance Control Department.
Her doctoral research develops the concept of "pedagogical compliance" — a framework that reframes academic integrity as an internalized student value cultivated through instructional design and the ethical use of artificial intelligence, rather than through external enforcement. Her work integrates established theories of value internalization and self-determination with contemporary tools for the responsible use of AI in education.
She is the Founding Coordinator of the Uzbekistan Academic Integrity Community (UzCAI), the first national academic integrity network in Central Asia, and an individual member of the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI) and the European Network for Academic Integrity (ENAI). She also serves as a QAA Pilot HEI Expert and an Advance HE G-CAN Mentor. Her recent work includes peer-reviewed publications on academic integrity, an accepted oral presentation at an international congress in 2026, and an accepted pre-conference workshop at the ICAI 2027 Conference. She is committed to strengthening academic integrity and the ethical integration of AI across higher education in Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region.
