About me

Hataw is an accomplished Assistant Professor and Sociologist with a rich academic and professional background. She obtained her PhD in Sociology of Tourism from Lebanon University, Beirut in 2015. Prior to that, she earned her MA in Sociology from Salahaddin University in 2004 and her BA in Sociology from the College of Arts, Salahaddin University in 1998. Additionally, she received a BA in English Language from the College of Language and Education at the Lebanese French University in 2020.

Since beginning her career in 1999, Hataw has held several key academic and administrative positions. Most recently, she served as the Head of the Tourism Foundation Administration Department at the Erbil Administrative Technical Institute, Erbil Polytechnic University, from February 2016 until March 7, 2022.

As of August 1, 2024, she holds the following key positions at Erbil Polytechnic University Presidency:

Director of the Career Development Center (CDC)
Director of Curriculum Development (DCD).
In addition to her administrative leadership, she is a dedicated lecturer in the Department of International Marketing and Languages at the Technical Administration College. She also plays a vital role in faculty training and quality enhancement as a Facilitator and Pedagogy Expert at the Pedagogy Center.

Furthermore, she serves as the General Supervisor of the Mitanni Journal of Humanities — the official academic journal of Erbil Polytechnic University, where she contributes to promoting scholarly research and academic publishing in the humanities field.

Hataw has enriched her expertise through numerous training courses and diploma programs. She has completed Training of Trainers (TOT), Professional Certified Trainers, and Master Trainer programs. She has also earned diplomas in Self Marketing, Diplomatic Advisor, Etiquette and Protocol, Human Resources Management (HRM), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and the Professional Development Programme for Kurdistan Pedagogical Experts. These programs were offered by prestigious local and international institutions.

Her research interests span a wide range of topics including Sociology, Sociology of Tourism, Anthropology of Tourism, Tourism Development, Tourism Culture, Cultural Tourism, Social Development, Business Ethics, Media Sociology, and Gender Studies.

In her personal life, Hataw enjoys a variety of hobbies. She loves traveling, reading books, listening to music, and playing musical instruments—especially the guitar and piano. She is passionate about photography, volunteering, teamwork, and exploring different cultures. Additionally, she enjoys playing bowling.
