Dr. Heba Salah Mohamed Hamed is currently working as Assistant professor of Fish physiology in the department of Zoology , Faculty of Women for Arts, Science & Education, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She had Ph D. " Physiological, Biochemical and Histopathological changes in African catfish (Clariasgariepinus) exposed to atrazine herbicide" from Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University , Cairo, Egypt, 2012, She had MSc. "Physiological and Biochemical studies on the effect of exposure to an organophosphorous compound in African catfish (Clariasgariepinus)" , Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, 2010. Dr. Hamed also had diploma in Biochemistry and physiology, Faculty of Science, Suez Canal University Ismailia, Egypt, 2015. She has eleven years teaching experience (Physiology, Endocrinology, Fish biology and Environmental toxicology) of under-graduate and post-graduate classes, Department of Zoology. During her years of research experience, she has mentored several Ph.D. theses as well. Her field of research includes Fish physiology, Reproductive Toxicology, Ecotoxicology, Aquatic Toxicology and Nanotoxicology. She has been able to scientifically prove that extraction of some medicinal plants used locally in fish diets contain pharmacologically active principles capable of ameliorating fish reproductive dysfunctions and enhancing fecundity. She has shown that these plants have strong in vitro antioxidant properties. Dr. Hamed published many articles in different peer reviewed journals. She is on Editorial Board of International Journal of Ecotoxicology and Ecobiology , Reviewer for research articles of more than 10 International Journals.
