About me

Ingrid Lorena Díaz Ramírez is a Honduran physicist and university lecturer at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). She holds a Master’s degree in Physics and has worked in research areas including neutrino physics, electromagnetic theory, physics education, and Earth Science education. Her academic work includes research on the MiniBooNE neutrino experiment, the effectiveness of multimedia resources for Physics teaching, and the development of active-learning approaches through virtual platforms. She currently coordinates the Earth Science course at UNAH, leading initiatives related to Moodle-based learning environments, virtual laboratories, and the development of a collaborative Earth Science textbook for Honduras. She is committed to promoting scientific education, interdisciplinary learning, and greater participation of women in science.

Ingrid Lorena Díaz Ramírez is a Honduran physicist, educator, and academic leader dedicated to advancing science education and increasing opportunities for scientific development in Honduras. She is a faculty member in the Department of Physics at the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), where she teaches Physics and coordinates the Earth Science course.

She earned a Master’s degree in Physics from UNAH, with a thesis focused on active learning methodologies and virtual learning environments for Physics education. Her academic background includes research in neutrino physics through a study of the MiniBooNE experiment, as well as work in electromagnetic theory and antenna analysis and design. She is the author of a publication on antenna analysis published in the Revista de la Escuela de Física of UNAH.

Her research and professional interests have progressively expanded toward Physics Education and Earth Science Education. She has led initiatives involving Moodle-based virtual classrooms, virtual laboratories, multimedia educational resources, and innovative teaching strategies designed to improve student engagement and scientific literacy. She is currently promoting the development of a collaborative Earth Science textbook written by Honduran academics and specialists to strengthen locally relevant scientific education.

Beyond her academic work, Ingrid is committed to science outreach, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the empowerment of women in STEM. As a university professor, researcher, and mother of five children whom she homeschools, she actively advocates for accessible, inclusive, and high-quality science education while balancing family life, teaching, research, and academic leadership.
