Mrs. Kassia Macassa Tsembane
About me
I am a PhD student in Ecology and Conservation, with a focus on the ecological assessment of coastal zones and on supporting evidence-based environmental management. Since 2022, I have collaborated on bird inventory and identification projects in several regions of Mozambique. I am currently conducting applied research on the ecological importance of Maputo Bay, with particular emphasis on migratory shorebirds and anthropogenic pressures.
Previously, I held coordination roles in the Legado: Namuli project, promoting integrated conservation and development actions in close collaboration with local communities, civil society organisations, and researchers, valuing traditional knowledge as an essential complement to technical and scientific knowledge.
I am interested in working with governmental organisations, environmental NGOs, international cooperation projects, and consultancies, contributing to environmental assessment, coastal management, and biodiversity conservation.
