Researcher in Public Health and Environmental Systems | GIS Specialist | PhD Candidate in Bioethics Laura-Viviana Cabezas-Pinzón
About me
Environmental engineer and researcher specializing in public health, environmental determinants, and spatial analysis. I use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial modeling to study health risks, environmental exposures, and territorial inequalities. I also teach at the postgraduate level, integrating GIS and public health approaches in academic training. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Bioethics, focusing on the ethical dimensions of health and environmental challenges in vulnerable populations.
Laura Viviana Cabezas Pinzón is an environmental engineer and researcher working at the intersection of public health, environmental determinants, and spatial analysis. She holds a Master’s degree in Geomatics and is currently a PhD candidate in Bioethics.
Her research focuses on understanding how environmental conditions, territorial dynamics, and social inequalities shape health outcomes. She has extensive experience applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial modeling to study vector-borne diseases, air quality impacts, and geographic disparities in health.
She has participated in research projects related to dengue, environmental health, and epidemiology, contributing to scientific publications and public health analysis in Colombia. Her work integrates environmental, epidemiological, and spatial data to support evidence-based decision-making.
Through her doctoral research in bioethics, she explores the ethical dimensions of health and environmental challenges, particularly in vulnerable populations. Her work aims to contribute to more equitable, context-sensitive, and ethically grounded public health approaches.
